The Israel Psychological Association
The Israel Psychological Association is an organization that represents the Psychologists in Israel, by their various specialties. It's primary aims are triple:
- to promote the profession in the public arena.
- to represent the psychological community vis-à-vis the authorities and the administration (the relevant Government ministries, such as Health, Education, the Parliament), and other relevant organizations.
- to care and provide for the members' well-fare and professional needs: continuing education, insurance, legal and financial advice.
The organization is run by the chairperson, and a committee of representatives of the divisions, that are elected once every 4 years.
The chairperson , with the committee decide on policy issues, while the general manager is responsible for implementing the decisions.
There are 6 divisions in the organization, each including members of a different specialty, recognized by the "Law of Psychology". Those are :
-The Clinical division.
-The Educational division
-The Developmental Division
-The Rehabilitation division
-The Health division
-The Social-Organizational division
Each division promotes the needs of it s members, especially in the area of continuing education, e.g. : organizing conferences, workshops , etc. through the year.
The organization is assisted by a legal advisor, and a financial advisor, for the benefit of private members too.
